During the past few months, several improvements have been made to the Association’s flagship Web site, www.bondmarkets.com: A faster search engine has been added, and a new intuitive page helps users quickly identify new and updated material on the site.
“When we surveyed our users, we found that two of the biggest issues were getting good search results and finding new material easily,” said Tom McGee, Director of Internet and Production Services. “These new features address those concerns.”
An additional feature allows users to e-mail a specific page or document to someone else.
Search Features Enhanced The new search page, accessible on the left side of the home page and via the “Go To” pull-down menu at the top of each page, enables users to search for information by inserting a word, phrase, or part of a word into the search field. The results can be viewed in order of either relevance or date. Other, more advanced search tools are also available.
Search results are listed with links. You can click through to a document directly, or to a version of it with your search terms highlighted.
What’s New? First-time visitors to the “What’s New” page will see all the new material that has been added to the site in the past week. On subsequent visits, users will find a list of all new entries since their previous session. Date and time are included.
E-mail to a Friend Throughout the site, if you find a page that may be interesting to a colleague, you’ll find that it’s now easier to alert them to it. Click on the “e-mail this article” link at the bottom of the page, enter your and your colleague’s e-mail addresses and any comments you may have. After the message is sent, users are automatically returned to where they were on the site.
This easy-to-use feature offers a helpful way to spread the word about industry news.
Access these features from virtually anywhere on the site either by using the pull-down menus at the top of each page, or by entering search words in the field at the bottom of each page.
